A Journalist from Pakistan
Arman Sabir
In this first paragraph, I should introduce myself. I am a Karachi-based journalist working for the English language leading newspaper daily DAWN.
The focal point of my reporting is to highlight police highhandedness, torture, custodial deaths, and extra-judicial killings. I have also done numerous stories on human miseries and their problems with regard to seeking justice.
I have raised many issues including one which is the menace of car snatching and theft. In Karachi, having population of more than 13 million, almost 27 vehicles a day on an average are taken away by bandits. I have pointed out the nexus between individuals of police and influential with criminals. I have given an appreciation letter from the Governor of the Sindh province with a promise that the government would look into it to eradicate the crime.
